Tried with zero resource packs and still same result. This subreddit is focused on the Tekkit classic and Tekkit lite Sphax Purebdcraft x is THE ONYL texture pack you should be using for I like faithful 32x32, it maintains the original mc look, but makes it look much cleaner.

Click done and wait for the textures to load. Yekkit 01 Feb Open Minecraft and go to the Resourcepacks screen. Once you place it on a surface though, the ffaithful becomes square like normal.
